ABOUT
MY NAME IS LISA GAREL. I am a Strategic Design Leader in Seattle.
My true passion lies in solving the weird and intimidating problems posed by complex systems. As a major HCI nerd, this is where I thrive. Always an advocate of the user, defining elegant systems that make their lives easier is what makes me tick. An obsessive level of curiosity doesn't hurt either.
I have experience in numerous industries including marketplaces, e-commerce, financial tech, outdoor, sports and entertainment, medical, and data networks. This not only includes design strategy, but also managing content and research for a holistic user experience.
My education includes a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a Professional Certificate in Web Design, and a Masters in Science from DePaul University in Human Computer Interaction.
